Socialization of Activities and Launch of Desa Cantik 2026

BPS-Statistics of Magelang Regency held a socialization and launch event for the 2026 Desa Cantik program on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. The event, held at the Borobudur District Office, was attended by the Acting Regional Secretary of Magelang Regency, David Rudiyanto.

The Desa Cantik program is an annual initiative conducted by BPS as part of its sectoral statistics development program at the village level. Through this program, it is hoped that village statistical capabilities will improve, the quality of village-managed statistical data will increase, and it will serve as the basis and primary information for village development decisions, thus ensuring more targeted development.

The Head of Borobudur District, Subiyanto, stated that the Borobudur District Government welcomed and supported the program. He also thanked BPS for the 2026 Desa Cantik program. He also hopes that the knowledge gained can be shared with other villages so that all villages have a better understanding of how to produce and utilize quality data. In his remarks, Acting Regional Secretary of Magelang Regency, David Rudiyanto, stated that the socialization of "Desa Cinta Statistik (desa cantik) can increase literacy, awareness, and the active role of village officials and the community in conducting statistical activities. He also emphasized that the Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik) program is not merely ceremonial but rather a long-term investment in building governance based on accurate and high-quality data.

On this occasion, the Acting Regional Secretary also launched the "desa cantik 2026" program, accompanied by the Head of BPS-Statistics of Magelang Regency and the Head of the Borobudur District. The villages designated as the focus of the "desa cantik 2026" program are Karanganyar Village, Tanjungsari Village, and Kembanglimus Village. In addition to the Desa Cantik launch, village statistics agents from these three villages were also inaugurated. Village statistics agents are village officials or community representatives trained by BPS to manage, update, and present statistical data in the village.

"The Desa Cantik program will be evaluated by BPS RI, with awards given to the best villages," stated Kus Haryono, Head of BPS-Statistics Magelang Regency, in his remarks. Kus Haryono also stated that the 2026 Desa Cantik program specifically supports the National Socioeconomic Data Collection (DTSEN) so that villages/sub-districts can better understand the DTSEN, socioeconomic variables in data updating, and data utilization. Furthermore, it is hoped that villages/sub-districts will support the upcoming 2026 Economic Census, which will not only collect data related to community economic activities but also socioeconomic variables. The Head of BPS also requested the support of all parties to assist and support the smooth running of the 2026 Economic Census to produce quality data for national development.

Following the launch of the 2026 Desa Cantik program and the inauguration of village statistics agents, a socialization session was held with speakers on the Desa Cantik program, the National Socioeconomic Single Data (DTSEN), and the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026).
