The Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of Magelang Regency organized the Economic Census 2026 (SE2026) Enumerator Training as part of the preparation for field data collection, which is scheduled to take place from July 15 to August 31, 2026. The training was conducted using a blended learning approach, consisting of online sessions from May 29–31, 2026, followed by face-to-face training from June 2–10, 2026. The offline training sessions were held at three training centers: Ramada Hotel Yogyakarta, Grand Artos Hotel & Convention Magelang, and Atria Hotel Magelang.
The training was attended by prospective field enumerators who will be responsible for collecting business and economic data throughout Magelang Regency. The program aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the concepts, definitions, methodologies, and operational procedures of the 2026 Economic Census, ensuring that data collection is carried out consistently, accurately, and in accordance with the guidelines established by BPS.
Various strategic topics were covered during the training, including the basic concepts of the 2026 Economic Census, business classification, the use of data collection applications, interviewing and probing techniques, questionnaire completion procedures, data validation, and the handling of various situations that may arise during field operations. The training materials were delivered by certified instructors who had previously undergone a series of specialized training programs, enabling them to provide comprehensive guidance to the participants.
During the face-to-face sessions, participants were engaged not only in classroom learning but also in group discussions, interview practices, role-playing activities, and field data collection simulations. These activities were designed to strengthen both technical competencies and communication skills required when interacting with respondents. The instructors also emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity, professionalism, and data quality as key factors in the successful implementation of the 2026 Economic Census.
Through this training program, BPS Magelang Regency expects all Economic Census 2026 enumerators to possess the necessary competencies and readiness to carry out field data collection effectively. With well-trained personnel who fully understand the census procedures, the 2026 Economic Census is expected to produce high-quality, accurate, and reliable economic data to support evidence-based policymaking at both regional and national levels. Furthermore, the resulting data will provide a comprehensive picture of the economic conditions and potential of Magelang Regency as part of Indonesia’s overall economic landscape.
