In 2025, Kindergarten (TK/RA/BA) remains the dominant preschool education choice for children aged 0-6 in Magelang Regency, with a participation rate of 69.35%. Although still the majority, the participation rate at this level actually experienced a significant decline compared to 2024, which previously reached 89.67%. This decline in the kindergarten sector was accompanied by a shift in parental preferences towards other preschool alternatives that are increasingly in demand.

There was a rapid surge in participation for the Integrated Early Childhood Education Post (Pos PAUD/PAUD Terintegrasi Posyandu) program, which more than doubled from 7.87% in 2024 to 16.85% in 2025. A similar increase occurred in the Playgroup category, which skyrocketed from 2.46% to 13.81%, while the participation rate for Daycare Centers remained stagnant at 0.00%. This shifting dynamic in educational trends serves as a vital indicator in mapping children's learning facility needs, making this information highly beneficial for supporting the formulation of equitable education access policies, early childhood educator planning, and improving the quality of early childhood development services in Magelang Regency.
