Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of Magelang Regency conducted the Training for the 2026 Corn Conversion Survey (SKGJ) over two days, from September 23 to 24, 2026. This training was organized as a crucial step to ensure the technical readiness and comprehensive understanding of field officers prior to field data collection.
The implementation of the 2026 SKGJ is a strategic initiative by BPS to update and provide accurate, up-to-date, and reliable conversion rates for corn commodities. Conversion rates from harvested conditions (wet/dry cobs) to dry shelled corn are vital as a key foundation for calculating national corn production estimates and formulating food security policies in the agricultural sector, particularly in Magelang Regency.
Throughout the two-day training, officers received comprehensive technical guidance and instructions regarding field data collection mechanisms. The training aimed to align perceptions and enhance officers' understanding, ensuring that every stage of field data collection is executed consistently, meticulously, and in accordance with established quality standards.
Through intensive coordination and thorough technical preparation, BPS Magelang Regency is fully committed to upholding the integrity and objectivity of agricultural statistics. It is expected that the 2026 SKGJ field enumeration will run smoothly, on schedule, and deliver high-quality data to support national food security planning for a Better Indonesia.
